The happy recipients

On Saturday I went to lunch with my two lady friends and they each received their "Pretty tool boxes." They were so excited and pleased. Both were amazed with the detail that went into them and were curious how I got the grain to line up between the tops and bottoms (they thought that I made the tops and bottoms separately, rather than make a box and cut it in half).

Anyway, here is a picture of my two best friends and their gifts.

They sure look grateful. Do they know what the tools are for? My guess is that they will never use the tools. They will probably preserve them out of respect for the person that put so much into the gift.

I think John is right aboout preserving them. But, there are many fine guns that have boxes like that, dueling pistols come to mind, and they are never used except for show.

They look happy to receive them. I hope they can appreciate the hard work that went into them as well as the guy behind the work.

Looks like two happy faces to me.

I repeat Cheryl's phrase, I hope they are as happy as they look and cherish these for a long time.

What a guy.

Its a tape measure and a thing to pry with and a thing to pound with. I'm betting they get lots and lots of use, since those boxes will keep them so handy. Mine do, and without such lovely storage.

No, it is a friend in Escondido, California named Michelle. She goes by the nickname of "piqaboo" and signed her comment.

And she was just being silly. She's saying that she LIKES the boxes and doesn't have one for her own set of pretty tools.
